Mike Pearson tells listeners what the USDA's WASDE and Brazil's CONAB contained and how it impacts trade.

Last week, both agencies published their respective summer outlooks.

In Brazil's CONAB report, Brazil reports a total grain output of 336 million metric tonnes.

The second corn crop is up 13 percent over 2024.

Brazil plans on a harvest of 169.6 million bushels. And when it comes to corn, 128.3 million bushels.

In the second corn crop or the safrinha is expected to produce 101 million bushels but that is not expected to be used for exports. Instead, that is planned for Brazil's ethanol production and livestock feed.

The WASDE report did not contain any new surprises.

The report says there are 50 million bushels of old crop corn and 1.75 million bushels of new crop on the way.

There was nothing new soybeans leaving prices unchanged.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Mike Pearson, farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
