Mike Pearson tells listeners how a bipartisan group of farm state senators introduced the "Farm to Fly" Senate designed to provide clarity for the production of sustainable aviation fuel.

The bill was designed to speed up the process of producing sustainable airplane fuel.

It was re-introduced just one day after President Trump froze all federally funded programs with an executive order for 60 days until they are looked over. This included the 45z Clean Fuels production credit.

The bill was reintroduced by Sens. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa; Jerry Moran, R-Kan.; Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill.; Pete Ricketts, R-Neb.; Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; and Joni Ernst, R-Iowa.

It is designed to strengthen the market for SAF and create a better collaboration between the USDA, producers and farmers.

A promising market for both producers and farmers boosting domestic energy security.

The legislation is needed to boost the ethanol and biofuel markets here in the USA.

The legislation is important not only to farmers looking to tap into SAF markets but to the biofuel producers so they can get the product to the markets.

Sustainable airplane fuel is key to boosting markets and strengthening the rural economy.

The "Farm to Fly" legislation is vital to create markets for aviation commodities.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Mike Pearson, farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
