Mike Pearson examines the Make America Healthy Again report released by Robert F. Kennedy in late May.

Since then, the people behind the study accused the authors of either misrepresenting or outright falsifying the results and the agriculture industry is pushing back.

Over 250 farm and food organizations sent a letter demanding farmers and ranchers be formally included in MAHA future work.

The reason is that multiple citations in the MAHA report pointed to studies the authors claimed were proof or they didn't exist at all.

One reported showed the study details one piece of research that didn't exist or were opinion articles. Some were recycled blog posts dressed to look like peer reviewed research.

Even worse, the MAHA committee ignored decades of research on ag innovation, actual research, nutrition and food safety.

A letter by ag groups say the report reflects fear and fiction and that American agriculture is not safe. The letter was signed by the American Farm Bureau Federation, National Corn Growers Association, soybean groups as well as state and national agriculture organizations.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Mike Pearson, farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
