Weekly Grain Movement: Corn continues its strong run

FPFF - Mon Nov 10, 11:26AM CST

USDA’s latest grain export inspection report, out Monday morning and covering the week through November 6, held another mixed bag of data for traders to digest. Corn volume led the way once more, despite facing a moderate week-over-week decline. Soybean volume was also solid as it continues to defy the absence of Chinese participation. Wheat inspections were largely lackluster.

Corn export inspections fell to 56.2 million bushels, a weekly decline of almost 17%. That was also toward the lower end of analyst estimates, which ranged between 39.4 million and 90.6 million bushels. Cumulative totals for the 2025-26 marketing year are now at 540.6 million bushels, jumping 65.7% above last year’s pace so far.

Mexico was the No. 1 destination for U.S. corn export inspections last week, with 14.0 million bushels. Colombia, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan rounded out the top five.

Sorghum export inspections fell to 1.3 million bushels, which was less than half of the prior week’s tally of 2.7 million bushels. Spain was the lone destination. Cumulative totals for the 2025-26 marketing year have slumped 63% below the prior year’s pace with just 10.3 million bushels.

Soybean export inspections improved 10.5% week-over-week to 40.0 million bushels. Still, that was on the very low end of analyst estimates, which ranged between 36.7 million and 62.5 million bushels. Cumulative totals for the 2025-26 marketing year are noticeably below last year’s pace after reaching 326.8 million bushels – a 42% decline so far.

Pakistan emerged as the No. 1 destination for U.S. soybean export inspections last week, with 6.9 million bushels. Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia and Mexico filled out the top five.

Wheat export inspections faded to 10.7 million bushels, which was a week-over-week decline of more than 17%. That was also on the very low end of analyst estimates, which ranged between 9.2 million and 16.5 million bushels. Cumulative totals for the 2025-26 marketing year are still trending moderately above last year’s pace after reaching 445.5 million bushels.

The Philippines topped all destinations for U.S. wheat export inspections last week, with 2.3 million bushels. Mexico, Taiwan, Chile and Guinea rounded out the top five.
