New Holland, Case IH unveil tractors at Agritechnica 2025

Bedazzled by bright lights, showgoers at this year’s Agritechnica 2025 machinery show in Hannover, Germany, were among the first to see new tractors from some of the industry’s largest equipment manufacturers.

New Holland announced three new tractor series:

  • Redesigned T7 SWT. This standard wheelbase tractor features new front axles and linkage systems, plus an enhanced engine with improved torque at lower rpms
  • T7 XD Series. This line offers horsepower options ranging from 360 to 442.
  • T4 120F. This is  a new specialty crop machine.

A redesigned T7 standard wheelbase tractor, featuring new front axles and linkage systems, and an enhanced engine with improved torque at lower rpms, the T4 120F specialty crop machine, and a brand new T7 XD series with horsepower options ranging from 360 to 442.

“This is a completely new range for us, sitting above what we had,” explained New Holland’s Andrew Dunne at the show, highlighting its approximately 10-foot-wide wheelbase. “It’s very much focused on European [farmers] — for cash crops and contractors. They always want more and more horsepower, but they don’t want a big, heavy tractor going out into those fields. This will give them that.”

Case IH expanded its Optum tractor series with three new horsepower models ranging from 360 to its flagship 440-hp machine. Like the T7 XD, the Optum Series tractor aims to meet European farmers’ desire for compact, maneuverable and high-capacity tractors. Gavin Enright, Case IH’s European marketing manager, highlighted the Optum’s compact, high-horsepower design, which is lightweight, maneuverable and nimble.

“It’s very much a dairyman’s tractor, if you will,” Enright said. “It’s a go-to machine with the capacity and the capability to do pretty well in every application from transport to seeding and tillage and everything in between.”

Alongside the Optum Series updates, Case IH announced a new 185-hp Puma short wheelbase tractor designed for mixed operational farmers looking for an upper mid-range horsepower machine.

New from European brands

With horsepower ranging between 320 and 450 and an improved hydraulic flow, Claas’ new five-model 9 Series outputs more power with fewer losses. The machines’ increased horsepower ranges reflect the European tractor brand’s push into the North American market.

“We’re now pushing up to 90 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow,” said Steffan Kurtz, global product team manager at Claas. “Our cabin is now wider than it was before. “Everything inside is new — from the seat all the way through to the display and new dashboard terminal.”

It was one of several foreign ag machinery brands that unveiled new machines at this year’s Hannover trade show. German-made Deutz-Fahr’s new Series 8 tractor also has a larger, quieter cab, with 26,000-pound rear-lift capacity and up to 340 hp.

“Every part has been designed from scratch to go beyond expectations and create something that was not available yet in the market,” said Mirco Romagnoli, marketing and communication group director for Deutz-Fahr during an unveiling event at Agritechnica.

International tractors

Lovol’s new all-electric e1025 tractor operates with motors, one 25-hp for driving and another with 40-hp output for PTO functions. Ying Chao, a product manager for the Chinese tractor brand, estimates the battery can last from two to six hours depending on operations. It’s designed for vineyard operations, barnyard maintenance and noise-sensitive environments.

“This is very, very quiet — for farmers who don’t want too much noise and emissions. This is a very environmentally-friendly [machine],” he said.

Other new tractors found at this year’s Agritechnica include the S90 Shuttle XL from India-headquartered Solis with a rated 90-hp engine, and South Korean TYM’s Series 6 utility tractors. Japanese brand Yanmar’s new YM small utility tractors, made in collaboration with India-based International Tractors Limited, are designed with mechanical transmissions to meet European market demands. The full lineup ranges from 22 to 60 hp.
